This interesting activity of the ham radio share it with other colleagues in several bands and modalities, my favorite one is the digital mode in text and images, I like the experimentation and application of the theoretical concepts to calculate the technical characteristics of the current and future in the hobby, my personal concept on this takes me to the opinion that it is necessary the expansion of the technique applied in the forms of work of the hamīs say the achievement of the elevation of our technical level.

Gab and his radio shack

I share this hobby with my wife YV5LNH who supports me and she enjoys the obtained achievements in the same way, also my son who at the moment with 8 years already interests him this activity.

Another of my preferred activities in ham radio is the working satellites, it consists the communication of two or more hamīs through a built satellite especially for this activIty, at the present time among other can be named, UO-14(+), SO-50, AO-16, NO-44, AO-51, A0-40(+). I use for this a OSCAR antennas kit of Hy-Gain of 8 elements for VHF and 15 elements for UHF duplicated the elements for the type of polarity (RHCP or LHCP), a parabola antenna for 2.4 Ghz with UEK-3000 converter, and 1.2 Ghz hellical antenna, and VHF and UHF external receive amplifiers, I use the Yaesu FT-847 with the Nova-Unitrac software for Windows system for tracking computer.

I am member of the AMSAT VENEZUELA or AMSAT-YV who is member of AMSAT that grouping hamīs work satellite in world wide.

Configuration of the Internet-Radio Gateway System (JNOS - FBB - DX CLUSTER - APRS IGATE)

The gateway system is part of the Venezuela Packet Radio Net or YVNET in which can communicate with many venezuelan hamīs radio stations.

The digital communication is carried out in several connection platforms such as AX.25, NetRom and TCP/IP, the mostly used speeds are among the values from 300 to 9600 bps.

The bands used for this communication are those assigned by the local telecomunication autority CONATEL (Concejo Nacional de Telecomunicaciones) for the hamīs use in digital mode and this frecuencies are in H.F. shared with other digital modes as the AMTOR, FEC, RTTY, PACTOR, G-TOR, PSK31, SSTV  used mostly for the DX, we also have this comunication in the bands of V.H.F. and U.H.F.

The Radio Gateway YV5KXE is located geographically to the north of the Caracas City (10 30'54" N - 66 54'02" W) with a height of 920 MSNM, and its technical characteristics are the following:

Internet Link Systems YV5KXE-L, YV5KXE-R

Link to 147.300 Mhz (435.470 Mhz 67.0 Tone) East Area YV Repeater

This system is of connection of repeaters in chain through Internet, it suggests something as a connection to a main server that at the same time divided in different "rooms" where from your computer using Internet way you can enter to be part listening and speaking through your multimedia system (speakers and microphone).

This system has a variant that is the main tool for the Hamīs that consists on an interface from your computer connected to these "servers" with one or several radios transmitters in frequencies of VHF, UHF or HF to achieve the communication with colleagues that possess these equipments in your area of radial covering connecting this way with different parts of the World where these rooms of conferences take place and this way to converse.

It is of making notice that it is necessary A HAM LICENSE of your Country to be able to use these systems since it is in fact nets of  Hamīs operators that are connected via radio frequencies assigned in different countries for goverment communications entities.

As example, a Ham in certain city can converse with its portable VHF or UHF through the sign taken place by one of these "gateways" in his city with another Ham in any place of the World that has a system under similar conditions or also with Hamīs connected directly by Internet to these "servers."

Several programs exist but is my fovorite:

APRS

The APRS (Automatic Packet Reporting System) basically consists on a system of report of stations positioning by the transmission of Packet Radio UNPROTO frames or packets without numeration. APRS station is conformed by a transceiver with their antenna, a TNC (Terminal Node Controler), optionally a GPS (mostly movil stations) and computer with a APRS program. When being given the transmission in a frequency of the APRS packages (unproto) all the stations copy it for that moment and if they are being part of this Net well it is with a APRS program  and TNC configured for this end, they copied the location of the transmiter station jointly with another series of valuable data as their operation condition, like it can be:

Meteorological stations with their report of the local weather conditions.
Gateway communication stations among the nets APRS of HF-VHF(UHF)
Movil stations with their location and some basic characteristics.
DX-Clusters with propagation informations.
Ham stations in general.
Radio stations finders.
Objects and certain meteorological phenomenons (Hurricanes, Storms, Tornados, etc.)

In the moment in VHF 145.010 Mhz work the local APRS frecuency  with  APRS Link the YV5LTR-7 1026.22N/06703.20W in mountains near to El Junquito city, Venezuela.
